I'm surprised I was able to trade at all this week since a very close family member passed away on the weekend. I've been so busy dealing w/ the related admin that my overwhelming grief was suspended for a while and only periodically showed itself when I had a moment to reflect...I'm so, so sad :(

Didn't really go crzy w/ my trading or anything, but still struggling w/ incr size and it didn't help that this week it seemed every trade slid against me (Been distracted a bit w/ some health issues in the family so perhaps my entries weren't as ideal as they should have been.).

I've added so much to my game that address specific issues (esp wrt mental aspects) that I trade w/ a very different approach than I did before. I know I can do it w/ small size but whenever I incr size, I L. I'm optimistic I can add a bit more to my trading so I can break this pattern soon. Looking forward to next week.

+107.91 on 19 contracts this week. I'm glad it was a G this week but I don't like that I had to revert to smaller size to do it. I always assumed it'd be academic to do it w/ larger size but it's going to take a bit longer to iron this out...still convinced this is the year!

Still working to try to incr. size and the result was close this week but still a L. I know I can do it w/ smaller size so getting over this hurdle of doing it with slightly larger size hopefully can't be too far off. Let's see what next week brings.

-28.34 on 7 contracts today.  Markets are so volatile these days, INDU was +5, within a blink of an eye was -100 and then right back up to +26.  Needless to say I was in at some peaks and out at some all day lows.  Rode my last trade near perfection though, just couldn't quite make up for the prior 2 bad trades.  Thankfully no real harm done but I'll try better tomorrow.

+13.30 on 7 contracts today.  Left +0.29 on the table on my first trade and watched as my 2nd trade became an easy gain after I exited for a large loss.  Feels awful to watch a nice gain day become essentially flat for the day but exited bec I felt myself slipping wrt following my plan.

Jan 21, 2014 - mlk holiday analysis

I analyzed my trading over the mlk long weekend and backtested with different variables and it seems that the only thing holding me back right now is still the  'accepting a L' idea.  I knew this was problem last year but it's really hard to shake.

The spots I enter are good, the targets I set are good, the LL's I set are good, it's just once a L sets in (even though I know that around 50% of the time it'll be a L trade), it's impossible to 'accept' this (and follow whatever rule I set-out for such a scenario including to stop for the day) and I just self-destruct with crazy trades.  If I eliminate those post L crazy trades (or adjust them for how I should have traded based on my rules), my system works.

Since last year wasn't the year, lets hope this year is the year I solve this 'accepting a L' idea.
